Lakepoint Restaurant – Bella Vista, AR

Client: Bella Vista Property Owners Association (POA)

Overlooking the scenic shoreline of Loch Lomond in Bella Vista, Arkansas, Lakepoint Restaurant is a full-scale renovation that transformed a long-shuttered 1990s facility into a vibrant lakeside destination. Commissioned by the Bella Vista POA, the project includes a restaurant, event center, and intimate wine bar, all unified by a warm, refined design language.

Paul began by documenting the existing conditions of the mothballed structure. Working within the constraints of the original construction and a conservative budget, the project reimagined the space as a welcoming hub for community engagement and elevated dining.

The design focused on delivering three distinct experiences:

  • Wine Bar & Tasting Room – A cozy yet sophisticated setting was crafted for this 25-seat indoor bar, complemented by 20 patio seats. The space invites guests to relax and enjoy curated tastings in a custom-designed environment.
  • Event Center & Wedding Venue – The 100-guest event space includes a bridal suite and flexible floor plan. A new stair descends from the upper deck to a trellis-framed lawn stage positioned near the lake, ideal for weddings and outdoor events with Loch Lomond as a backdrop.
  • Full-Service Restaurant – With seating for 150 guests, the restaurant features a full bar, covered patios, and a lake-inspired interior. Custom design elements include a driftwood art installation, bespoke seating, and a material palette that balances natural textures with upscale style.

Key challenges included reconfiguring flow from a kitchen located at the opposite end of the building, integrating modern systems into aging infrastructure, and improving both interior and exterior aesthetics. The exterior was refreshed with updated finishes and a cohesive color scheme.

The final result is a revitalized lakeside destination that supports fine dining, weddings, and community events — all rooted in thoughtful architectural design and a deep connection to place.
